New Playing Members Information

Playing Membership (7 Day Gold, 7 Day Silver, 6 Day, 5 Day, Intermediate, Introductory, 9 Hole and Junior)

Applicants can forward completed membership application forms with full payment to the office at any time. Applicants receive an interim receipt that automatically grants them Nominee Member’s status and entitles them to the discounted green fees of the Category applied for. This receipt must be presented at the Pro Shop when paying green fees.

Nominee’s

Details are entered into the Clubs membership register & payment is processed ASAP. Their name & address must be displayed on the club notice board for 14 days.

Proposers and Seconders

Have a responsibility to see that the Nominee is introduced to other Members and is also advised of all the rules governing the conduct of the Club and is sufficiently advanced in the knowledge of the Rules of Golf to be competent to perform the duties of a marker for a fellow competitor.

Handicaps

If the Nominee does not hold a current Australian Handicap then it is important that the Nominee is given every reasonable opportunity to acquire one. Nominee Members (whether they hold a current Australian Handicap or not) may play in certain competition times in order to obtain an Australian Handicap however, they are not permitted to win any prizes and their play can be controlled as set out in BPGC By-Laws.

Nominees not holding a current Australian handicap will be required to return three (3) completed score cards, with a minimum of three cards played at Beverley Park plus two cards from other golf clubs. These cards must be marked & signed by another person holding a current Australian Handicap and can be played during a competition or social round. Upon submitting the required cards they will then be allocated an Australian handicap. It is requested that all cards are marked 1st handicap card, 2nd handicap card etc. this will help to streamline the process. It is also strongly advised that Nominees make a concerted effort to complete their handicap cards ASAP. New members joining from other clubs and holding a current Australian handicap need only have their handicap transferred from that club.

Provisional Members

The Nominee’s details are presented at the next scheduled meeting of the Board after receipt of their application for Board approval. Once the Nominee’s details have been approved at Board level and have also been displayed on the Club’s Notice Board for 14 days they are upgraded to a ‘Provisional Membership’. The newly elected Provisional Member will be issued with a Club membership card that replaces the initial interim receipt. It displays the Members’ name & category and must be presented at the Pro Shop when paying green fees, it also enables access to the members locker room.

Provisional Members (whether they hold a current Australian Handicap or not) may play in certain competition times in order to obtain an Australian Handicap however, they are not permitted to win donated trophies, board events or Monthly Medals and their play can be controlled as set out in BPGC By-laws.

Provisional Membership status will remain until three (3) calendar months from the date their handicap is ratified and until the new member has attended an official Meet & Greet, at which time the member will adopt the Full membership entitlements of the category applied for.

Booking into Competitions

Prior to being issued with an Australian Handicap new members must book into competitions with the aid of Pro Staff or Match Committee members. Once the new member has been issued an Australian Handicap the GOLFLINK function of their membership card is activated. This enables members to access the Club’s booking in computers.

New Members Meet & Greet

It is an essential requirement of membership that all new members attend an official Meet & Greet. The purpose of this Meet & Greet is to provide the new member with valuable & important information about the club, clubhouse, course & golfing procedures. These meetings are held at regular intervals & new members will be informed of the next scheduled meeting soon after applying.
