Conditions of Play & Booking Procedure

For Lady Members playing in Men’s Competition Times & For Male members playing in Ladies’ Competition Times

Under the constitution all members have the basic right to book in and play on any day that they have paid for in their membership.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY

  • A minimum of two (2) players are required for entry into a ball competition.
  • 8 players or more are required to form a competition where they are eligible for a voucher.
  • No WGA Member can win an AGU Competition.
  • No AGU Member can win a WGA Competition.
  • All Lady Members playing in the tee times allocated to an AGU competition will compete in a WGA division of the same competition. Where AGU & WGA players are paired together, they will be ineligible for the in-conjunction event*.
  • All Men playing in the tee times allocated to a WGA competition will compete in an AGU division of the same competition. When AGU & WGA players are paired together, they will be ineligible for the in-conjunction event*.
  • Similarly, lady or male members playing in a “Mixed” event without a “Mixed” partner will be playing in an AGU or WGA single event, they will be ineligible for the in-conjunction event*.
  • Provided there is a relevant competition, players will be handicapped.

*Where trophy donors allow it, they will be eligible to win their trophy, but not club trophies.

BOOKING IN PROTOCOL

  1. It is requested that the participants:
    • Book in two tee times (next to each other) if the main event is one that consists of a two player team.
    • Book in four tee times (next to each other) if the main event is one that consists of a four player team.
  2. Booking sheets for the following Men’s competitions will come out 2 weeks in Advance; (Club, B & C championships, Foursomes Championships, J.H. Mostyn Shield, Cock o’Walk, Beverley Park Handicap and Allan Fraser Memorial Trophy.
    • Lady Members will have access to a spot in these fields 7 days later, i.e. one week in advance.
    • Booking sheets for the Lady Members’ Major events come out 3 weeks in Advance.
    • AGU Members may book in 14 days later, i.e. one week in advance.
  3. It is requested that participants:
    • Wherever possible contact the players that they intend booking in with.
  4. Provisional members, who are unable to win certain events, should make their potential partners aware of this fact, when booking in.
